It changes your body, mind and soul in every way. Yoga can assist you through this process with grace. You will feel a deeper awareness and connection with your own body and with baby. Prepare your mind, body & spirit for the journey of pregnancy, childbirth & parenthood.
You will learn to focus, using your breath and gentle moves to prepare your body for childbirth. Creating harmony within, for the baby and you.

Classes are Saturday mornings - 9am - 10:15am out of our studio

Each week covers different topics, you will practice:
Postures and gentle movements to support your pregnancy and birth.
You will also have the opportunity to connect with other mothers in the local neighbourhood.
The course welcomes women at all stages of pregnancy - Yoga mats, blocks & blankets will be provided (though you are welcome to bring your own) - Booking is essential

What is Restorative Yoga good for?Restorative Yoga is a type of yoga that can improve strength, flexibility, stability, and it alleviates symptoms of chronic pain. It also reduces stress, anxiety and depression to improve sleep and overall quality of life.
What is the main focus of Restorative Yoga?Restorative Yoga focus on slow movements, deep breathing, and stretching the body to calm the nervous system, promoting relaxation, better sleep, better mood and to reduce pain. At Body Awareness, Energy Medicine Yoga is also incorporated in our restorative classes, working with all Energy systems to promote healing, health and vitality.
Is Restorative Yoga for beginners?Yes, this style of yoga is suitable for beginners and practitioners of all levels.
Is Restorative Yoga good for weight loss?Restorative Yoga will reduce stress, anxiety and depression, improving sleep and overall quality of life and it alleviates symptoms of chronic pain, improving strength, flexibility, balance and concentration. As a consequence it will be good for weight loss, as the body will heal from the inside out.
Is Restorative Yoga good for back pain?Yes, restorative yoga focus on slow movements, deep breathing, stretching the body to calm the nervous system thereby promoting relaxation, better sleep, better mood and it will reduce pain in the body, including back pain.
Is Restorative Yoga safe during pregnancy?Restorative Yoga is gentle on the body, and it is safe to practice during pregnancy as long as you modify some positions, and movements to accommodate the growing belly. We do have pregnancy yoga classes, that will focus on movements and breath work that are specific for pregnancy and will help with labor and delivery.
How does Restorative Yoga work?Restorative Yoga is a gentle practice, that holds poses (asanas) for longer using props like: yoga blocks, blankets, bolsters, if needed to support the postures. In our classes we also practice self massage and we work with the Energies of the body.
